A few weekends ago, our LOVELY Bridal Party came over to help us with our invitations...I knew it would be a big job but had NO idea how time consuming and tedious it would be!!! Those girls worked hard!!! It literally took ALL DAY. We had to glue two pieces of the invitation together, thread the ribbon through the rhinestone, then glue that onto the invite...it.took.forever.
I am so happy with the way they turned out though, they are simply marvellous!!! I literally couldn't have done it without them! I LOVE YOU GIRLS!!!

NYC
New York was the best trip of my life, it was so delicious!!! I had my two loves of my life with me, nothing could be better!!! We saw TONS and laughed more than I have ever laughed before! SO MUCH FUN!!!!
My dress alterations appointment was amazing! Vera from Say Yes To The Dress was there and she was VERY sweet! On the show, she can be quite, let's say uptight, so I wasn't sure what to expect! She was VERY complimentary and VERY sweet. The appointment actually couldn't have gone any better...I am THRILLED with the way my dress looks. I didn't however, expect the appointment to be almost THREE hours long!!! Poor Ryan, he had to wait in the waiting room the whole time!!!
They were VERY meticulous and worked so hard on the dress. I am thrilled I made the decision to get it altered at Kleinfelds.

Getting back to it!
We're back from NYC and wedding planning has been in FULL SWING!!! In the days that we've been back, we've accomplished a LOT!
*We've completed our registry! People keep saying there isn't enough on it, but it's actually hard because Ryan has a house, so we have everything! We went back to the store and added a few more things! Things are already starting to mysteriously disappear! Eeek!
*We bottled our wine for the favours and it was SO SO fun!!! This was an amazing gift from my Sister and we are SO grateful! It will be such a nice gift for people. They turned out AMAZING and the wine is delish! They printed such nice labels for the front and we are debating adding some bling to the bottles...we'll see if we can actually handle all that craftiness!!! Let's just say we tried that day and got very overwhelmed! Better luck next time???
*We've given Ryan's Mom the invitations to be printed (which should be mailed out by early April!).
Next weekend we are having an "Invitation Party" and wrapping all the lovely invites with the ribbon and attaching the broaches.
Wish us luck as I think this will be a HUGE job!!! My advice to all future brides, JUST BUY YOUR INVITATIONS!!!!! It does not end up saving you a ton of money! We thought we could print them at home, but trying to figure out the margins and font was driving us crazy, so now we are sending them to a printing company!!! When we get them back, we have to put them together!!!! I am NOT a crafty girl, so I have to say I am a wee bit frightened!!! Hopefully my lovely Sis Marina will take control!
*We had the food tasting on Tues. and it was delicious and SO much fun!!! Can't wait to eat the food at our wedding!
*Yesterday we met with the Jazz band and I am BEYOND excited for them to surprise everyone at the wedding during the cocktail hour !!!! Of course, if you are reading this blog it won't be a surprise for you!!!! Shhhhhh! Keep it a secret!
*Mon.we have an appointment with the Florist! The flowers are HUGE to me, so this is one appointment I am SOOOOO excited for!
We have done SO much, but there is still SO much to do!!!! THREE MONTHS TO GO!!!!!! Just breath

It's a girl's perogative to change her mind!
There's been a change.........with my shoes!!! I got my beautiful Badgley Mischka "Randall" pumps delivered, only to find that I couldn't walk in them!!!!!! Let alone the fact that I was almost as tall as Ryan in them! I was heartbroken!!! I was also very disappointed because the flowers weren't what I expected...So the hunt for my perfect wedding shoe began again! Ryan, Madison and I went on an adventure downtown to Spadina but the shoe stores there weren't what we had in mind...so Ryan suggested we go to the Eaton Centre. We got there and literally looked in EVERY.SINGLE. shoe. store.........NOTHING.
Then Ryan suggested we go to Yorkdale (my FAV mall)....we were on our way to the mall and Ryan came up with a brilliant plan to stop at Sherway Gardens on the way to Yorkdale!!! (See why I am marrying this boy!!!???!!!) We get to Sherway Gardens (which may be my new fav mall) and looked again in EVERY.SINGLE. shoe. store and...........NOTHING!!!
OK, so I did find a pair of Steve Madden shoes but they just didn't feel special enough...they were pretty, but just didn't have the WOW factor I was looking for...I know I have spent a small fortune so far on this wedding, and these Steve Madden shoes would have been the more economical choice, but in the words of the oh so wise Carrie Bradshaw herself, "I rationalized that my new shoes shouldn't be punished just because I can't budget!!!"
So off we went to our THIRD mall in one day....We get to Yorkdale and my lovely sidekicks were saying small prayers as we walked along, that I would find some shoes! Six hours later, we went into the shoe store and it was like the heavens opened up...ahhhhhh....hallelujah! There they were! Madison's reaction when we saw these shoes was PRICELESS and I will never forget it. She was so truly happy for me, it was such an amazing moment!!! We were jumping up and down and dancing in the store!!!
I truly LOVE all Badgley Mischka shoes, and I was in LOVE with the other shoes but they were just too tall...these one's are 3 inches instead of 4 and much more comfortable...I had been looking at these while I was searching for the other one's....I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!!!! I feel SO amazing in them! They remind me of feathers.... they are glamorous, bold and the name of these shoes explains them perfectly, let me introduce you to my new Badgley Mischka "Dreamy" shoes....

Gift Registries!
Ryan and I had a delicious day of shopping today in Toronto...we went to one of our favourite stores, Restoration Hardware and we completed our registry! It was difficult for us when we started our registry because his house is fully decorated, so we have all the basics, but this is a chance for us to register for things that we may not have been able to buy but have been admiring! I am so excited about everything on there, from the tiniest things like shower curtain rings to the bigger and loftier dreams such as our drapery!
Here are the links to our registries:
You can search under mine or Ryan's name

On a side note, here is a pic of Ryan and I at Christmas with our Restoration Hardware robes that we got from my lovely sis Marina...we ADORE them and honestly wear them EVERY single day!!! There is nothing more delicious than these robes!

My Ebay catastrophe
Let me tell you about my $150 Ebay mistake....I was browsing through one of my favourite Bridal magazines, Wedding Luxe, and saw a beautiful picture of a table setting that featured these delicious little crystal brooches pinned to the tablecloths. When I saw this picture, I just knew I needed to add these little sparklers to my tables...after all, it's the little details and touches that make a wedding special right??? (This is what I tell myself in my head as I fixate on these non-important details).
So like the good Fiance he is, Ryan accompanied me to Michael's to accomplish "Mission Brooches". Of course, there were NONE I liked. I have to say that I have been quite disappointed with Michael's during this whole process...I don't find they have a great selection and the stuff there isn't the best quality. We have vowed and much to my great delight, to NEVER step foot in a Michael's again however we keep ending up there somehow!!! Eeek!
My sister had a wonderful idea to try Ebay....so one night Ryan, Chrissy and I were perusing on the site and I found the exact one's from the magazine. They were a little over budget so we decided to "Make him an offer"....what we didn't realize is that if you make an offer and the seller accepts then the deal is done!!! I got them for the price I wanted, however I did not realize that the jerk wanted $9.99 PER BROOCH for shipping!!!!!!! We contacted the seller and the most he would come down was $50 for shipping, which is still OUTRAGEOUS!!!!
So, moral of the story....BE CAREFUL what you click, on EBAY!!!!!
Also, please take a minute when you are at our wedding to actually appreciate these little brooches!!!! They were a HUGE headache!!!! It will make me feel better if you at least notice them! Thank you!

Empire State of Mind
I have some exciting news....Ryan and I have decided to go to New York to get my dress altered and bring it home with us!!! We are also bringing along Miss Madison for the road trip!!! Yay!
It was actually quite a stressful decision! Kleinfelds has a 3 day alterations policy so Sarah calls Kleinfelds and naively says, "I'd like to book a 3 days altering appointment please because I'll be in New York in March for my March Break."
Kleinfelds, "OK no problem, but in order to do it 3 days in a row there is an extra fee of $400 on top of your $500 alteration fee."
Me, "WHAAAAAT????!!!!". Sniff
To make a long story short(er), after hyperventilating and some tears, I called back, spoke to SEVERAL different people but finally got in touch with a manager who was amazing and she had them agree to let me do a two day fitting and then releasing my dress to me for no extra cost. They usually want the 3 days to ensure their work because they are so picky but there is not much to be done so I am confident that they can do it. I only need it shortened and made tighter in the waist. Kleinfelds literally has the top seamstresses in the country so I'm told, so I know it will be all good!
NYC here we come!!!
I will be packing my little black dress of course
In New York,
Concrete jungle where dreams are made of,
There's nothing you can’t do,
Now you’re in New York,
These streets will make you feel brand new,
The lights will inspire you,
Lets here it for New York, New York, New York
(Thank you Mr.Jay Z, this song sums it up perfectly!)
